How a matter moves.
Every engagement follows the same path, so an attorney always receives the file in the same form, and a client always knows what comes next.

Why we exist
They have carried enough.
Someone who has been wronged hires an attorney to stand for them in court. Yet the work of gathering the proof has always fallen back on their own shoulders, at the very moment they have the least left to give.
We believe they have carried enough. Attorneys belong in the courtroom, not buried in bank statements. Between them stands Victim Advocacy Associates, turning what happened into what holds up.
Two ways to bring us in.
Start with an assessment.
Individuals and families work with us directly. Begin with a case assessment at a fixed fee, and if you choose to continue, a Case Build at a fixed fee, agreed in writing before any work begins. When you are ready, we hand the finished file to the attorney of your choice.
Start an assessmentThe VAA Counsel Network.
Attorneys in our Counsel Network can recommend us as part of your representation. With your written consent, your attorney engages VAA directly, our work is guided by counsel, and our fees appear as a disclosed case cost in your fee agreement. You focus on healing. Your attorney focuses on the case.
For attorneys: join the Counsel NetworkBring us to them.
Tell your attorney about VAA. We will introduce ourselves, explain how we work, and show them what we can prepare. Many attorneys choose to engage us directly, so our work is guided by counsel and becomes part of their own case preparation, strengthening your position and their case at the same time.
Bringing us in is always your choice. Our fees are never tied to the outcome of a case, and we never pay or accept referral fees.
About us
Built by someone who has stood where you are standing.
Victim Advocacy Associates began with Ally Arpey's own experience of fraud. She knows the disbelief of the first discovery, the long nights spent rebuilding what happened from statements and messages, and how alone it feels to carry the proof while still carrying the loss.
She came through it determined that no one else should have to face that work by themselves. Today she brings the same patience and care, shaped by her training in clinical counseling, to every person who comes through the door, and the same rigor to every file that goes on to an attorney.
That is the heart of this practice. We listen as people who understand, and we build as people who know what is at stake.
Tenax verbi
Said TEN-ax VER-bee. Latin for
Steadfast to the word.
Two thousand years ago, the poet Horace praised the person who holds firm to their purpose, unmoved by pressure from anyone. We carry that promise in two directions.
We hold fast to your word.
Your story is not set aside, softened, or lost in a stack of paper. We stay with it until it becomes a record no one can dismiss.
We hold fast to our own.
The scope we put in writing is the work we deliver, on the timeline we promised, in the same form every time.
Trusted by the people who try these cases.
Engaged full time by a trial firm.
Our practice supports a firm handling fraud, financial-abuse and fiduciary litigation, every day.
